Washington, DC - The College Democrats of America (CDA) congratulate President Barack Obama on his inauguration as the 44th President of the United States. This culminates over two years of dedicated campaigning by young people and months of CDA organizational support.

In his inaugural address, President Obama emphasized the need to “transform our schools and colleges and universities to meet the demands of a new age.”  CDA stands wholeheartedly behind President Obama in his commitment to young people, and we look forward to working with the new administration and the Democratic majority in Congress. Moreover, President Obama has also demonstrated his commitment to America’s students stating that he will streamline the financial aid application process by enabling families to apply simply by checking a box on their tax form and eliminating a separate application. “Any policy that reduces the barriers to financial aid is a step in the right direction,” said Naranjo “We look forward to seeing these changes and more implemented soon.” [Whitehouse.gov]
