Communications Director

Kenzi Green | Communications Director | greenk@collegedems.com

Smith College

Raised in a small, conservative town in rural Alabama, Kenzi became interested in politics in high school with the help of her government and history teachers. Her awareness grew when she began to recognize the positive impact that the government could have on the hard-working families of her hometown.

In the fall of 2008, Kenzi began attending the University of Alabama, where she developed her communication skills with the university’s nationally recognized speech and debate teams. After researching and debating some of the most pressing domestic and international political issues of the day, Kenzi found her real passion for Democratic politics.

Just a few short weeks after transferring to Smith College in Northampton, Massachusetts, Kenzi was elected First Year Representative for the Smith Democrats and continued her work as Vice President the following year. She is currently a senior at Smith, studying government and religion.

After a series of internships with Alabama Public Radio, CNN, the Jerusalem Post, and the State Department, Kenzi joined the CDA Communications Team as Traditional Media Coordinator, bringing a wealth of experience in print and broadcast journalism. In this capacity, Kenzi worked to develop a unified, coherent message for the College Democrats of America. She joined the executive board as Communications Director in November 2011.

After graduation, Kenzi hopes to pursue a career in public affairs. Outside of College Democrats, Kenzi enjoys reading The Atlantic, caving, and hanging out with her cat, Meowdeleine Clawbright, SeCATary of State (Maddie).
