A recent graduate from Kenyon College and Vermont native, Matthew got his start in politics in 2008 making calls for then Senator Barack Obama. He continued his political activism throughout college as an intern with Democracy for America, the Democratic National Committee, the White House Office of Management and Administration, and was the youngest elected delegate to the Democratic National Convention from Vermont. In addition, he organized with the Obama re-election campaign in D.C., Virginia, Ohio, Vermont, and New Hampshire in multiple capacities including Campus Team Leader and Organizing Fellow.
Matthew has been involved with College Democrats of America since his sophomore year and has been an active member of the Kenyon Democrats throughout his time in college. Last year, Matthew served as the Press Secretary and then Communications Director of College Democrats of Ohio, as well as a Social Media Coordinator and Deputy Communications Director of College Democrats of America.
In addition to his work in politics, Matthew has been active in Relay for Life, a co-leader of Kenyon College Wellness (a group that provides substance free housing and promotes a healthy life style), and a tour guide and senior interviewer at the admissions office. In his free time, Matthew is a recreational racquetball and tennis player, loves being out on Lake Champlain, and is a newshound.
