National Council Vice Chair

Brexton Isaacs | National Council Vice Chair | isaacsb@collegedems.com

Illinois Wesleyan University

Raised in Byron, IL, Brexton got his first taste of politics during the 2008 elections when he became fascinated with the national elections and started meticulously researching many of the high profile races around the country and attended President Barack Obama’s first inauguration. Interested in the electoral process, Brexton began his political volunteerism by campaigning for local school board candidates, as well as for Cheri Bustos and David Gill in 2012, two of the most contentious Congressional races in the country. Following the general election, Brexton campaigned on behalf of Bloomington Mayoral candidate Tari Renner and interned in Congresswoman Bustos’ district office.

Brexton began attending Illinois Wesleyan University in the fall of 2011 and instantly joined the College Democrats. He has served in various IWU College Democrats leadership roles and is currently their President. In spring 2012, Brexton was elected to join the College Democrats of Illinois executive board as their Vice President, which he was reelected to in spring 2013. After successfully increasing CDIL’s social media presence, he joined the CDA Communications Team as Social Media Coordinator in the fall of 2012.

Outside of College Democrats, Brexton is currently the President of the IWU Student Senate, a Resident Assistant, political writer for Illinois Wesleyan’s newspaper, an orientation team leader, and a member of Alpha Kappa Psi, a business fraternity.

After graduation Brexton plans on working fulltime on a 2016 campaign.
