Dominique Gelin | Political Affairs Director | gelind@collegedems.com
University of Central Florida
Originally from Miami, Florida, Dominique now lives in Orlando as a recent graduate of the University of Central Florida. Like many others, her first taste of political activism came in the fall of 2008, while working to help elect then-Senator Obama. Since then, her work has focused on campus organizing for races at the national, state, and local levels.
One of Dom’s most influential moments came when she had the opportunity to create caucuses at the chapter level. It was then that the College Democrats at UCF began to change the way outreach was done with other campus organizations. That experience, coupled with leading the Florida College Democrats’ Women’s Caucus, is what has allowed her to see the potential for caucuses at the chapter and statewide levels.
Dom has also served as the President for the Florida College Democrats, as CDA’s own Membership Director, and is an active member of Ruth’s List Florida. She now works as the Youth Outreach Coordinator for the Florida Democratic Party.
