This past weekend Joe and I attended our first DNC Meeting in St. Louis. As many of you know, the President and Vice President of CDA serve as members of the DNC, and I, as President sit on the DNC Executive Committee. In St. Louis we had the opportunity to meet with DNC Members, Elected Officials, and all the individuals who make up our party’s leadership from across the country and made sure DNC leaders knew how excited College Democrats are to get to work in November.
On Friday I had the honor of addressing the DNC General Session in St. Louis along with Vice President Biden, Chairman Kaine, and Secretary of HHS Sebelius. This was a unique opportunity to showcase our party’s commitment to young people and CDA. As we reflect on the events, Joe and I are proud of the investment the DNC is making in CDA through exciting new projects.
In the first couple of weeks after taking office it has been almost unreal to see the energy and passion of your executive board at work. Every officer is showing commitment, dedication and enthusiasm that will carry CDA to new heights.
As we work on wrapping up our national appointments and prepare to launch our national plan for the fall, we wish you all the best of luck on your return to classes. Make sure you check out our “Back to School” Guides and continue to check back for exciting updates as we work towards Democratic victory in November.
Democratically yours,
Alejandra C. Salinas
President, College Democrats of America
