CDA Celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month

Today marks the beginning of a month-long celebration of the innumerable contributions made to our country by Hispanic Americans. This Hispanic Heritage Month, we recognize that their story is the story of America; immigrants, hoping for a better future, have made their way to this great country, bringing with them their hopes and dreams, their hard work, their culture, and, most importantly, their immutable spirit and desire to pursue of the American dream. These Hispanic Americans have contributed at every level of society, from bringing new businesses to Main Street to leading the College Democrats of America.

CDNC sit down with DWS!

The College Democrats of North Carolina had the opportunity to sit down with DNC Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz for a round table
discussion about young people in the Democratic Party.

On Tuesday, September 6, the DNC held it's official kickoff event for the 2012 DNC Convention in Charlotte, NC where College Democrats from across the
state were invited to participate in the actual kickoff event celebrating the upcoming national convention as well as a backstage event with the Chair afterward.

Middle class Americans across the country have much to look forward to after President Obama’s ambitious speech before Congress, in which he promised to lower the tax burden on hard-working families, invest in small businesses, and ensure that access to quality education is an opportunity for all children.

But the American Jobs Act doesn’t just guarantee temporary economic improvement; a stronger economic future for America means quality, sustainable jobs for college students preparing to enter the workforce. When he ran for president in 2008, then-Senator Obama had the full support of college students across the country who were inspired by his message of hope for a better tomorrow.
